Putting The
Learner First,
Always

We envision a future of the unlimited learner, where every young person can thrive in a time of dramatic change.

At Lemnis, we champion a bold vision: to empower learners in an era of constant change, where the boundaries of possibility are limitless. Our name, inspired by the lemniscate, (∞), embodies this notion of boundless potential. Just as the lemniscate symbolizes infinity, we believe in limitless possibilities and are relentless in our optimism for future learners, workers, and citizens.

Read about our origin story

Lemnis, formerly NWEA, embarked on a new philanthropic journey in April 2023 after selling substantially all its assets to HMH. NWEA’s legacy now lives on in two ways: first, as a division within HMH, continuing its mission in the education sector, and second, through Lemnis as a completely independent philanthropic venture. We honor our shared heritage while embracing the opportunity to reimagine how we meet the evolving needs of learners. Our path is one of transformation, continuous growth, and a steadfast commitment to creating lasting impact on the future of learning.
