Invested In
Next-Generation
Learning

Lemnis is centered on expanding the horizons of learning. To do this, we support changemakers and organizations who innovate, develop, and catalyze change in four frontiers for our most vulnerable learners.

While we believe that concentrated investments in these four domains is critical, we also know that there is power in how they interact and intersect with one another.

Our aim in each of these areas is to challenge traditional models, implement cutting-edge research, and shape the future landscape to make systems more inclusive, adaptive, and effective for all.

Advancing Four Related Frontiers

  • Belonging & Community

Belonging is a fundamental human need and essential element of effective learning environments—but today, equipping learners with a strong sense of belonging is far from standard.

  • Neuroscience & Social Sciences

Neuroscience and social science can tell us a great deal about the most effective ways to learn—but there’s a big disconnect between what we know in theory, and what we do in practice.

  • Artificial Intelligence & Digital Technology

Emerging technology has the potential to combat barriers to learning—but in many ways, its transformational promise remains unfulfilled.

  • New Ecosystems & Supports

Public education is at a turning point. Individual educators go above and beyond to meet learners’ evolving needs in a complex world—but they lack a broader system to support their efforts.

Investment Objectives

  • At Lemnis, we invest in breakthrough ideas and technologies for learners across four key frontiers. While we believe focused investments in these four domains are essential, we recognize the powerful impact of their interaction and intersection. Our investments are designed to:
  • Accelerate and spur adoption of catalytic learner-centered approaches
  • Strengthen connections and collaborations to advance progress towards the future
  • Drive evolutions in policy and research to create the conditions and evidence base for systemic transformation
